I get accidental recording and accidental stop recording ALL THE TIME because of how easy it is to bump the button (I carry my Pocket in my pocket). I wish there was a way to disable the button in the Pocket App after I start recording (or any time for that matter) so I won’t have to worry about it stopping recording if I bump the button OR accidentally starting a recording when I have no intention to do so. I would think this would be extremely useful for anyone that keeps having the same issues I do.
Hi @Wiretec! You’re definitely not alone on this—pocket bumps causing accidental starts and stops can certainly be frustrating.
A button-lock toggle in the app is a fantastic suggestion. Thanks for posting it on our feedback site! I’ve flagged this for our product team to keep on their radar for future updates. No promises tho.
Here’s what I did in the meantime to help eliminate the issue and it’s working fantastic so far. It requires considerably more pressure but I’m OK with that.
I put a layer of adhesive backed HDPE tape with a hole cut out for the button, making it almost flush. The black piece of plastic is to keep the slide switch in the normal position since I never attach it to my phone, and it’s worked perfectly for many months now.
