When looking in the app it tells me that no calendar is connected. When I try to add my Gmail calendar, I receive an error that the app “Failed to connect calendar account”. The funny part is that I am receiving notifications of upcoming events from pocket.
hey @jgemberton will help you out here! Did you give access to the calendar while logging in? Gmail would be asking for access to your calendar in the permissions page. If so could you please share your email. I’m dming you!
I connected mine but it says no events.
@mlhayes829 you can dm me or drop a support query at hey@heypocket.com we will look into it thanks!
Fixed it. Even though I allowed calendar access during setup, I had to go in to app permissions and manually allow calendar access as it was showing ‘not allowed’ for some reason.
I cannot sync my Google calendar at all it says “ failed to connect Google account” when I try to add a calendar.
hey @jgemberton I think you could share what you did here as it might help others as well!
I just got my Pocket, set it up and am having the same issue. My Google Calendar won’t sync in either direction. Have you been able to resolve the issue?
I went to my Google account, deleted the Pocket App permissions and tried re-adding my accy/calendar and that didn’t work. Thanks
Same issue. Checked the app permissions and it’s all allowed. Did you get a solution?
Same here. Checked the app permission and all it asked for were allowed. No solution yet. I’m going to reset the Pocket and reinstall the app and start over. I’ve not done much, so little to lose. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Ok, so I reset my Pocket, deleted the app (it seems I had to do that to successfully software reset the device), reinstalled the app and re-setup the Pocket. I also went to Manage My Google Account and deleted the permissions so everything would be reset and redone. This time the calendar synced.
Here’s what I may have done differently. The first time I tried, I didn’t notice that I left a calendar that someone else has shared with me checked. No need for that calendar to sync with HeyPocket, so I unchecked it. The first time I synced I was hesitant about both Google permission check boxes and only check the first one. When that caused issues I went into my Google permissions and gave HeyPocket all permissions, but that didn’t fix the issue.
But redoing the setup as described in the first paragraph above fixed it. Cheers, Jim
p.s. the software reset didn’t delete the recorded conversations I had done previously. I suppose that’s because I left the Cloud Sync feature on.
