I logged out. When I logged back in I couldn’t remember if I had previously used un/pw or google SSO. I tried to Continue with Google first, and got a popup that said “Pocket” Wants to use “accounts.google.com” to Sign In. I click Continue. I choose my Google account, then proceed to “Pocket want access to your Google Account”. I tried not enabling additional permissions, and enabling the last 2 permissions (related to accessing Contacts), but in both cases when I click Continue it routes me back to the login screen with the popup for “Pocket” Wants to Use “accounts.google.com” to Sign In. Infinite loop.
I’ve switched to trying to Continue with Email. It brings up the Enter your email screen, and I enter my email address. It shows me a screen that says “Register your account with Pocket: Enter OTP”. When I check my email, I do receive the OTP. However, when I entered it I kept getting an error. In one case I did typo the OTP, but did not have an opportunity to fix my typo because it automatically submitted when the last OTP digit was entered. Ten minutes later I’ve tried again (and each time I’ve tried, the same OTP was issued… not very “one-time”…) and it finally logged me in.
There’s some major funk in the auth flow.
