I have been using my Pocket to record my presentation practice sessions and then running the audio file through Claude for feedback. This might be a feature / use case you may want to consider adding.
What kind of questions are you asking Claude? Did you try using the chatbar on the recording there, how did it fair? What would need to be improved for you to default to that?
Here is the prompt that I am using.
Act as an executive communications coach specializing in public speaking with a matched presentation. I am providing an audio recording of practice presentation. Strictly ignore the substantive content, financial data, and scientific terminology. Your sole objective is to analyze my acoustic delivery and identify any instances of “script-reading voice”, unclear communication, and sub optimal cadence and word choices Provide a direct, objective, and structured narrative report with timestamped examples focusing on the following areas:
-
Pacing and Cadence: Calculate my estimated words per minute. Flag any specific timestamps where my speech becomes rushed or indicates anxiety.
-
Strategic Pausing: Evaluate my use of silence. Identify if I use effective pauses after complex statements to allow for audience absorption, and log any pauses that sound like unprepared hesitations.
-
Vocal Variety and Articulation: Evaluate my pitch, tone, and breath control. Flag any instances of mumbling, monotony, or trailing off at the ends of sentences, as these project a lack of conviction.
-
Filler Words: Log all instances of filler words (e.g., ‘um’, ‘ah’, ‘like’) and repetitive transition phrases that dilute my message.
-
Word Choices: Suggest changes to my word choices that will significantly optimize audience understandability of the content.
Conclude with a highly actionable, adjustments I can make to help my delivery sound more conversational, authoritative, and unscripted.
hey @MikeInOC have you tried out the custom template! it would be a great way to get the output you want, instead of going into claude
I have not tried it yet, but I will give it a try.
