Is there an amount of time I should wait after i hit the button to record and after my recording is done but before i hit the button to end the recording? I feel like, especially on very short recordings like “Note To Self” kinda recordings, the recorder doesn’t catch it all. Even though im holding it like a microphone. Thank you for any help.

Welcome to the community.
You don’t need to wait before or after recording. Just make sure that when you press the button, you feel haptic feedback and the LED changes:

Blue to amber when the recording starts

Amber to blue when the recording ends
If that doesn’t happen, you may be holding the button too long. You don’t need to hold it down, a gentle quick press should work.
