Desktop App - Recording Echo participants

I’m experiencing echoing in the desktop recordings.

Does the desktop app apply acoustic echo cancellation to the microphone capture stream during recording? On macOS, does the app request the voice processing audio unit, or does the app open the raw input device?

My read is the system audio tap gives you a clean copy of the remote participants, and the microphone stream carries a second copy through speaker bleed, with no cancellation between them.

If no echo cancellation runs on the capture path, please treat this as a feature request. Recording meetings on speaker is a normal use case and headphones are not always practical.

We have a similar issue on Zoom with Windows app 2026-08-07. Local audio has no echo but every remote line has an echo on the Pocket recording. No echo is apparent in the Zoom recording or to live participants.

This is with the base offering. Is there some ability to set echo cancellation on in the subscription version? Any other ideas to eliminate this echo?
