Just completed a 70 minutes meeting on Microsoft Teams using the Pocket Desktop App to record the meeting, and for some reason the meeting shows up twice in my Knowledge Base but failed to upload. Clicking RETRY does not upload, and on the Android App there is no audio for it to summarize because of the failed upload. Have I lost the contents of this meeting, or can I recover them?
hey @write2jeff is this windows or macOS? The recordings can be recovered if the delete button was not pressed. We are working on desktop app reliability and given that it’s an early beta we should see improvements going live over next week
It is Windows 11, and I have not pressed the delete button on either of the duplicated conversations.
dming you about the same!
hey! just wanted to give some context on the desktop app. we realise that we haven’t provided enough support on the same and we are sorry about it! Given that it’s a very early beta we are working on getting more bandwidth and getting more engineers to work on the same. We are hoping to get a lot more stability in the next few weeks as soon as app, summary and transcript improvements are made on our end
we have identified the core cause of this issue we have an update rolling out in the next few hours cc @bharat
I just had a 38 minute meeting in Microsoft Teams on Windows 11, used the Pocket Desktop App to record it, and there is nothing there. The widget was showing that recording was in progress, but there is nothing in the Desktop App, and no file in the local directory to correspond to the recording.
hey was the recording stopped?
was there an error like above? for the same
The recording was not stopped, and there was no error. I clicked STOP in the widget to end the recording after the call. But there is no record of the recording. This may be a broader issue, as I have since had two phone calls that I recorded using the device and my phone, but they will not transcribe, despite appearing to go through the process of transcribing the audio, extracting key points, and writing the summary. I have attempted to use both Gemini 3.0 and ChatGPT 5.2 to transcribe an summarize. Both have failed.
In order to resolve this last issue, I downloaded the audio (from within the Desktop App) and then uploaded it back into the Desktop App, and it worked fine. This is weird, as both of these were recorded on the device over my cell phone. I have deleted the offending items highlighted now that I have recovered them via the audio files.
hey @write2jeff I am looking into the specific issue keeping you updated!
hey! we have identified the issue tied to a downstream provider, we have mitigated this
I am continuing to have issues using the Desktop app to record meetings in Microsoft Teams on Windows 11. It began Wednesday morning, when in the middle of a meeting while recording the transcript stopped updating. This morning I had a meeting in Teams with me and one colleague. I was using bluetooth earbuds, and my side of the conversation was not recorded at all. I tried switching to external mics, but my side of the meeting was not recorded. I now have a one-sided 24 minute conversation in my recordings.
hey @write2jeff we are figuring out what happened we had someone else face this issue but no updates have been made to the desktop app in this regard. Meanwhile we suggest using the Pocket device thanks
link to my issue on a mac but same problem
found the fix rolling out an ota update for the same!
0.2.26 is live with fixes please do let us know
I just updated and tested the desktop app, and recording works correctly now. Thank you!
