I love the concept of the magnetic connection, however I have a case on my phone. Do I need to remove it from the case to use this, and/or what do I do when I get a new case or phone?
TIA

As long as your iPhone case has MagSafe, this will work fine. I have a competing product and that’s what I do. I would never use my iPhone without a case because I drop it too much.
Thank you! Looks like its time for a new case!
That said, the contact mics don’t work if you have a case on. But it is cool to have it attached through MagSafe.
Bummer on that, I thought they would work. Hopefully they app functionality is expanded to include native call recording so we can use it with airpods… and a phone case.
ctash - Don’t assume that the contact mics won’t work. I just did a test playing a podcast on my Pixel 7 with a MagSafe case on it, and my Pocket did a great job of summarizing it.
Then I also took a cursory look at the transcript, and aside from misspelling the name of one of the hosts, the Pocket did an excellent job.
Were you recording with the contact mic (switch up on device) and audio playing thru the headset speaker or did you have the podcast on the main speakers (speaker phone)?
The podcast was playing over the speaker, but I was using the contact mic.
Ok, so that’s not the same thing as trying to record a voice call with contact mic and a case on. My guess is it won’t work given the lower volume and vibrations in that setup.
Just tested a call on an iPhone 16 Pro with a Speck brand hard case utilizing the contact mics with the phone using the internal handset speaker. It worked ok.
