Desktop App Recording Failure

The audio input bar at the top of the screen was a nice touch, and I noticed you aligned some formatting with the mobile app. Thank you!

Again this afternoon, using the Desktop App in Windows 11 to record a meeting in Microsoft Teams using bluetooth earbuds, my side of the conversation was not at all recorded.

Mhirr, my mistake, I was actually not using a bluetooth earbud for that meeting. I was using the mic on my USB camera and the built in laptop speaker. I am on the Windows Desktop version 0.2.26

hey could be that the usb camera is not passing input properly which could be why this is happening

is there any reason why the usb camera was used? Just using the laptop mic should work as well!

In my office with multiple monitors, the laptop is closed and out of the way, requiring the usb camera for video, so I typically use it for audio, as well. I will try a couple of different methods today and see which works best.

This issue, which seemed resolved when I tested it yesterday, is still a problem. Just had a 30 minute meeting in Windows 11 on Microsoft Teams using Bluetooth headset for speaker and mic. Recorded using the Desktop app. The transcript window as I recorded showed all parts of the conversation. After the meeting, my side of the conversation is totally absent from the transcript. I played the local copy of the recording, and my side of the conversation is missing from the recording, as well. Because my test yesterday worked fine showing all sides of the conversation, I just checked the local copy of my test recording yesterday, and it is complete. I can only assume that this recording issue resurfaced with this morning’s update to version 0.2.27, which occurred right before the meeting I recorded today. Desktop recording on meetings in Teams is a critical feature for me as part of the Pocket device / service.

Yes, the Desktop app showed the correct input mic. And when I expanded it during recording to look at the live transcript, it was showing my side of the conversation, but somehow my side did not get to the recording and therefore did not get in the final transcript.

Do you have an update on recording via the Desktop app yet? This really is a critical piece of me being able to fully use the Pocket device / service effectively.

FYI … I just updated the Desktop app and tested it using both a bluetooth headset and the mic on a USB camera, and it seems to work fine on both devices to capture both sides of a conversation.

I am continually having issues trying to record meetings on a computer. Whether I use a bluetooth headset connected to my Windows 11 laptop, or ear buds plugged into the headphone / mic jack, it seems I am only getting one side of the conversation. On the ear buds plugged into the headphone / mic jack, I only get my side of the conversation. Although I can HEAR the other side of a meeting (i.e. Microsoft Teams) in my ear buds, the Pocket desktop app does not pick up the other side of the conversation. It is not possible to have these Teams meetings without using some kind of private listening device. One should easily be able to either plug in ear buds or connect via bluetooth with the confidence that he won’t miss half of an important meeting.

I received my Pocket today. I’ve tried several recordings with the Desktop app, but generally:

  • it cuts out,
  • it stops,
  • in 3-minute recordings it only records about 55 seconds,
  • if I use headphones, it doesn’t pick up audio properly from the other participants (but I don’t know if it’s not picking them up at all, or if the app is freezing).

The Desktop app was recently updated to version 0.3.61 on Windows 11.

Anyone with this problems?
