Using multiple Pocket’s simultaneously under one account

Using multiple Pocket devices under one account

Any special considerations when using multiple devices under the same account? I want to use two separate devices in different use-cases, one dedicated to personal productivity and one dedicated to work engagements.

Is it as simple as grabbing summaries with both and when integration is required (e.g. combining my personal notes regarding a work topic with the meeting notes about that same topic), just using whatever AI productivity platform (e.g. Copilot) to integrate the separate summaries into one actionable set of notes?

Any insights would be appreciated :+1:t2:

Hi @Hein.Garbers, welcome to the community!! Unfortunately, using multiple Pocket devices under the same account isn’t currently supported.

Thanks.

In my use-case, I want to use device 1 with my iPhone (personal productivity and ideas-on-the-go), and device 2 with my iPad Pro in meetings/interviews/consultations (long-form summaries).

So, if I have the Pocket App on various Apple devices logged in under my account, and I manage the bluetooth connections of the two Pocket recorders accordingly, I am assuming the recordings & summaries will flow into a unified history/workflow on my account.

What do you think?

No, unfortunately that won’t work. A single account can only be connected to one Pocket device, even if you use the app on both your iPhone and iPad.

We may introduce support for multiple Pocket devices per account in the future, but it isn’t planned anytime soon. Could you share more about why you need two separate Pocket devices for this workflow? We may be able to suggest another way to achieve what you need with a single device.

Before joining this community, I had asked this same question to hey@heypocket.com.

See below for the answer I had received.

If you would please clarify, since my second order for another device has already shipped:

Hi, great question - yes, you can use two Pocket devices under the same account. Each device pairs independently to your account, and all recordings sync to the same place, so both use-cases would feed into one unified history.

A couple of things worth knowing for your setup:

  • Each Pocket device maintains one active Bluetooth connection at a time. To switch which phone a device is connected to, just close the Pocket app on the current phone and open it on the other.
  • For your MacBook meeting use-case, the Pocket desktop app is actually the best option for capturing online meetings (Zoom, Teams, Meet, etc.) since it can capture system audio directly. You can download it here: Download the Pocket App for iPhone, Android, Web, and Desktop | Pocket Docs - just sign in with the same account and everything syncs together.
  • If you have a Pro subscription, it covers your account, so both devices benefit from it automatically.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I’m sorry for the confusion @Hein.Garbers. The email you received was an incorrect AI-generated response, and we’re fixing the issue that caused it. If you no longer need the second device, we can arrange a return for you.

No worries.

My workaround will be to manage two devices with separate accounts, and then unify the summaries by copy/pasting them into my primary work platform (Copilot & Gemini).

In closing, see this as a feature request**: multiple devices under one account for a unified summary thread!**:+1:t2::+1:t2:
