I received a notice today that another similar app is available that will allow you to record through your Apple Watch which then transfers to you Apple iPhone and “processes” it there. This sounds far move convenient an less obtrusive than the current methods? Any ideas or I options in the future for Pocket?
Reading a lot about people recording with the Pocket device in their pocket. This might be a stupid observation but does this still work with phone calls while in a clothing pocket?
It would only work for phone calls (while Pocket is in a pocket) if the phone call was on speaker mode. Pocket has to be touching (attached) to the back of your phone and the switch in the proper phone call position to record phone calls.
I’d love to have the Pocket app work through my Pixel Watch! Just a simple record/pause/stop button interface to control Pocket recordings would be awesome.
If your primary use case is personal productivity, idea capture, and to-do’s, you can already do that with Apple Notes (and summarise with Apple Intelligence).
If your primary use case is the capture and transcription of long-form content like in-person meetings, interviews, lectures, or consultations, or the recording of longer-form telephone conversations like customer interactions, then the form factor of the Pocket is superior for a variety of reasons
In as far as recording with Pocket detached and inserted into a clothing- or accessory pocket is concerned, that won’t produce an optimal result in the normal mode of Pocket, it won’t work at all in the phone mode of Pocket, and it’s a bad idea in terms of Privacy & Consent if other parties are involved.
