Failed syncs…..grrrrrrrerr

I wouldn’t mind how slow things are syncing over Bluetooth or WiFi if they didn’t drop connection. It takes me hours of retries to sync anything because the app keeps dropping it if I lock my phone

I am having the same problem. Using the device for a long meeting has created a file that I haven’t managed to sync yet. It’s very frustrating.

I cannot get the wifi sync to work at all. I don’t see a “Pocket*” wifi network. I see a “PKT*” network that I’m assuming is the one, except that it asks for a password to join. I have no idea what that password would be, and it’s not mentioned in any of the docs. (Yes, I have the most recent wifi firmware.)

I know that we’re bleeding edge here, but this is not a positive experience. I’m very worried about data loss.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks,

George

For me, the BT syncing works better. It starts immediately and “feels” faster.

I’ve also noticed that the wifi network is “PKT …” not “Pocket …”. It also appears to be password protected with no indication what password I’m supposed to use.

I have found Bluetooth to be slower, but more reliable. That reliability means that it’s faster in the long run, at least as things stand right now.

My phone has been stuck on “Syncing file 1 of 7” for hours now, with Bluetooth. (I cannot even get the WiFi sync to work.) Very frustrating since I really want the notes from this conversation.

Can we expect any support on this forum?

So, I got some support from an engineer at Pocket. He got me sorted out.
It looks like my problem was related to massive data volumes. I had 35 hours of recordings that it was trying to download.

I imagine that this fix will roll out to everyone at some point.

I have found the engineers more than willing to reach out privately and help troubleshoot and resolve issues.

I recorded five back-to-back trainings and waited until the end of training to sync them using Wi-Fi (which generally works for me). However, the first training was dropped for some reason and simply disappeared. I cannot retrieve it. So I re-recorded the training and synced it separate from the others. That finally worked. This is the second time this has happened. There needs to be a way to recover failed syncs. If it were a meeting that was lost, then this tool would be completely unreliable and shoved in a drawer of failed tech. This needs to be addressed as a top priority.

I had this happen to me yesterday. I had a phone conversation that lasted about 10 minutes. Even though the orange light was on during the call and then I stopped the recording and the light turned blue. The recording never showed up. Fortunately, this wasn’t a very important call so I wasn’t too worried about it. It seems this may be a wider issue.

My guess is that @mhirrrr is already aware and looking into this for us

I’m on the new version of the wifi firmware and things are soooo much better now.

Same issue here. Have plenty of notes sitting in the Pocket. A usb sync should be developed on the web interface, as it is today is unfortunately unusable

@pontix I think this is what you’re after. An upvote would be helpful:

messaged you @pontix we do currently have something in development which would help the Pocket device upload to the cloud by itself, bypassing the app!

@mhirrrr That’s great news!

Thanks! I follow it!

I have the same problem. And all my help tips are for Apple instead of Android.
