Pocket Desktop App!

How to update:

  1. Open the app
  2. You should see an “Update Available” prompt
  3. Click “Install Update”
  4. The app will restart with the new version

Here’s a video walkthrough:

This should be for v0.1.4 (0.1.4) correct? Are the versions the same for both Mac and PC?

Unfortunately I will not be able to test the desktop application any further as my company will not allow it in my work machine which is where I needed it most. Thx.

Thanks for letting us know, Shawn. Totally understand.
Appreciate you taking the time to try it out and for the context.

this should work now. can you please update your app and check? thanks!

PS: you will get a notification to update inside the app, just press “Yes” and it’ll be done.

is there a way to tell if the app is up to date or what version I’m running? (windows)

I installed from the link in this thread yesterday and when I tried to record a teams call it didn’t record anything and generated a toolbar that I was unable to interact with.

Hi! I am extremely new to Pocket. I just downloaded the desktop app. I am wondering how I get my previously recorded items to show up on the desktop version? I made sure I was logged into the correct account/email.

All the recording showed up magically today! Now my next issue is that my current recordings are not syncing tonight like usual.

Very excited about the desktop app and its working great in general. I noticed when i start a recording my output speaker volume in the meeting drops significantly (maybe 50%). Obviously i can just crank up my volume - but i wanted to make sure you all were aware. System volume seems to stay at the same level (like system chimes and such). I am using Zoom on a mac with airpod pros.

Is it too late to be a part of this??

hey! no we are actively improving on feedback if you see above both macos and windows links are provided!

Awesome, I didn’t scroll enough, got too excited to see that this was being tested. I just downloaded the Mac version, and it gave an error when I tried to move the app to the applications folder–was able to open it by double clicking on the Pocket icon without moving it over to applications, though.

Now it’s saying there is an update, it gets to 100% and says it failed to download update. Known issue, or something going on just with me?

Hey! We have never seen this could you send us a screenshot of the error you are seeing @satyamx64

here you go!

I did not have the same problem on my other computer soI went back to the one with the error, and grabbed another screenshot. Ultimately I was able to fix the issue. Will describe in case it is helpful.

When I was originally trying to move the download to the applications file, it would say there was a newer item and ask if I wanted to replace it. When I said yes, this error would appear. I was still able to open Pocket, but I assume I was opening whatever item had been there previously. That was the one saying i coudlnt update. Instead of replacing the file, I tried keeping both, which allowed me to move it to the applications folder. I opened that version and downloaded the update.

got it @Rmacadams thanks for this information my team is looking into why this happened as well cc @satyamx64

New issue on one of my computers–my uploads keep failing for both imported audio and recordings done through the desktop app. I quit and reopened, still same issue.

The computer that had the updating issue before seems to be importing audio fine, though. @mhirrrr

hey @Rmacadams I would suggest deleting both Applications, Clearing out your bin and reinstalling the app
