Quick Transfer Slow/Failing

Since I upgraded my iPhone to IOS 26.4.2 quick transfers are extremely slow - less than 6 KB/s and often fail entirely. I also upgraded WiFi firmware on the Pocket to V8 and the Pocket firmware is at 1.3.3

Any suggestions to resolve this issue?

Hey @cbhende65,

We checked the logs for your account and it looks like the socket connection is failing to establish properly.

Please try the steps below to make sure Quick Transfer works correctly:

  1. Make sure the “Local Network” permission is enabled for Pocket.
    You can check this in:
System Settings → Search “Local Network” → Make sure Pocket is enabled(if it’s enabled, please disable and enable it again)

  2. Fully restart the Pocket app.

  3. Start Quick Transfer and wait around 5–10 seconds to allow the Pocket app to connect to the Pocket Wi-Fi network properly.

  4. Please make sure the Pocket app stays open in the foreground while the Quick Transfer is running. Putting the app in the background may interrupt the socket connection and cause transfers to slow down or fail.

  5. Once the Wi-Fi connection is established, the app will automatically try to connect to the socket. After that, the transfer speed should return to normal.

Typical Wi-Fi transfer speeds are around 400–600 kbps. If you continue seeing much slower speeds than that, please cancel the transfer and try again.

Hi bharat,

I followed you steps (toggling off then on) settings that were already on. After completing those steps, I was able to successfully execute a Quick Transfer this morning. Thank you for you help!!
