Does anyone know why my device would stop recording repeatedly? This problem just started. Thank you very much.
Hey! Please mail us at hey@heypocket.com we will get you sorted out
@bharat From my engineering team will take a look at it
Hey @mmanchak, have dmāed you.
I have the same issue. On multiple occasions, I have clicked the button, observed the light change color (for me it looks white) and put the device in my shirt pocket, only to discover later that it didnt record. Now to vent a little. Today I set on my desk, and played back a zoom recording for it to transcribe. I came back an hour later, and nothing. During that hour I had left my office with my mobile for an hour, but left the Pocket on my desk listening to the zoom recording. I tried it again, and sat at my desk the entire time, and it worked. The next challenge is trying to listen to the audio. What a hassle. It should be available in the app like other similar devices. When I finally get audio, the AI does a decent job of capturing everything. Synching is another major issue. BTE is VERY slow and WiFi is hard to connect and keep connected. So, multiple missed recordings, hard to actually listen to the recording, multiple synch issues, and stuff hidden in nested non-intuitive menus. Iām not happy. Maybe Iām just spoiled by my Paud Note. The recordings are at the top of the screen to listen to, (easy peasy) it generates great notes, and synch ājust worksā, I dont have to mess with it. The difference in experience between the two is night and day. If someone can explain the failure to record I would appreciate it.
hey @JPP this shouldnāt be happening have messaged you!
I am having the same problem, at first I thought it was my imagination, but then it kept happening.
hey guys could you please mail us at hey@heypocket.com to expedite support and Iām reaching out on dm!
@JPP just another thing you are able to import recordings on Pocket now using the import option on the home screen!
I sent the email per your chat request
Hi Folks,
Like the others on this post, my new device stops recording and loses all the data from the beginning of the recording and up to the moment it stops. Searching for the memory doesnāt show anything.
Here is a recording I got to work, (only 5 minutes because I didnāt want to try longer just in case it cut off and Iād lose this one too) that discusses what Iām seeing:
*Note, this was unconnected mode. I havenāt tried connected mode yet on this new device, mainly because I was trying to isolate the issue. (app vs device) Right now, device or device firmware looks like the culprit.
Edit: I checked and it has this behavior while connected too. In addition, the connection drops randomly and doesnāt pick back up on the recording.
I know that several people have reported this. Are you close to solving it?
Status update.
1: I have been able to use Offline Record Mode without catastrophic issues (loss of recording session) since the last update, using the replacement Pocket that was sent after the original Pocket didnāt work.
2: ***Wifi update never works. Sometimes it connects and looks like itās working, only to stop after a minute or so. This is from any distance, 1 inch to 30 feet.
3: Bluetooth synch works consistently.
4: I have yet to reattempt Online Recording Mode for fear of losing an important meeting and just do offline recording since itās working right now. I will attempt at my first chance when Iām in an informal call where I am not concerned with losing the data.
Thank you,
Troy
This continues to be an issue. When I am āofflineā, I can record and keep memories. When I am connected to the app, the record function dies midstream at random intervalsā¦I think any connection issue at all interrupts the recording on the device and it stops.
Also, wifi still doesnāt work for updates. The āwork-aroundā is a pain and didnāt work when I tried it.
Another question: Does Hey Pocket save my data on any database outside my device? If it does, it is encrypted?
I know Iāll be asked to send this to the email.
I had this issue today as well. Itās pretty frustrating because if I canāt rely on my Pocket device to reliably record the call, then sort of nothing else matters in terms of summaries, AI agent, etc etc.
Here was my scenario:
- Was on a call on my computer. Pocket was recording. I confirmed in the app.
- Walked away for a few mins with my phone (pocket was left running next to computer)
came back with my phone and pocket close to each other and later took my phone to āstop recordingā after call ended but saw there was no recording in progress. And no files either.
I know the pocket device should work independently of my phone, but this has happened a few times for me now.
Hey, I donāt know if there was ever a solution found about this, but I have a work around where if I am recording in Conversation Mode, I just make sure the Pocket App on my phone is ānotā running/activated at all. That allows the Pocket device to not drop the recording. Of course this wonāt work in Phone Call Mode or if you start the conversation mode recording in the App. (I just press the side button to start and stop the recording, then start the App and synch.)
Pocket, if this has been corrected in the App, please let me know.
Thank you
OK, I decided to test this while I have some time. The Conversation Mode still stops recording at random intervals IF the Pocket App is running on the phone. Itās not a product of distance, as it stops recording even if the phone is inches away or if the device is attached to the back of the phone directly.
I will continue to use my work around of not letting Pocket App run while I am using the device in Conversation Mode, until this is fixed.
hey @Troy_Is_On we thanks for this we are investigating this cc @bharat
