August 2026 firmware update (1.8)

The update notification this past week mentioned “pause while recording” and I was very excited about that but couldn’t find any documentation afterward. I figured out the pause function but have other questions too.

• long click from off to turn on and enter standby (blue light)

• single click in standby to record (amber light)

• double click while recording to pause (white light)

• double click while paused to start recording again (amber light)

• single click while recording to end and return to standby (blue light)

triple click while recording does nothing

But what about…

• double click in standby (one green flash then blue again)

• triple click in standby (three red flashes then blue again)

In the Pocket app, you can raise this query in the ‘Ask Pocket’ tab, which provided this response:

Based on the Pocket knowledge base, here is what those button actions do:

Side Button Actions

  • Double-click in standby: This is a Quick Battery Check. The LED will flash a color to indicate your current charge level:

    • Green: Battery is full.
    • Amber (Yellow-Orange): Battery is at approximately 50%.
    • Red: Battery is low and needs charging.
  • Triple-click in standby: This initiates the Hardware Reset flow.

    • The three red flashes indicate the reset mode has been triggered.
    • To complete the factory reset (erasing the device and returning it to pairing mode), you must press and hold the side button while the red LED is blinking until it stops.
    • Once released, the device will return to a breathing blue light, ready to be paired again.
