Pocket seems to lock up after memory transfer

This started happening after one of the updates but not sure which one. It’s been happening for a couple weeks now.

I open the Pocket app and with the device on, the app connects and I’m offered to transfer new memories which I usually do. Once that is completed, I try to turn off my Pocket device by holding the on/off/record button for a few seconds as usual and it doesn’t turn off. If I hold it down for 15-20 seconds (maybe more because I haven’t kept track) it finally shuts off. This happens after every single time I transfer new memories.

Another way to make it actually shut down quickly after memories transfer is to short press the on/off/record button and start a recording which works. Then just short press again to stop recording, long press for ~3 seconds and it shuts off like it normally does any other time (except after new memories transfer).

For some reason, the transfer of new memories locks up the Pocket system. Any advice or tips? This is just a minor annoyance right now and since I’ve figured out how to do a workaround, not that big of a deal but just wanted it to be known.

Update:

I discovered tonight after syncing today’s memories, that after they completed uploading to the cloud for processing, that I would close the Pocket app by swiping it away from recent apps (this is on Android latest version Pixel 8 Pro). Once I did that, I could shut it off quickly like normal. So it appears the connection to the Pocket app is what’s keeping the device from shutting off like normal.
