Some quick bullet points questions that I have in the initial days of setup:
How do I toggle cloud syncing and data retention on and off?
How can I retain transcription and recording as a function without having the data stay on the cloud?
Is there a way to turn everything off and have the pocket app still extract and share the mp3 base audio over email so that I could import into my companiey’s co-pilot ecosystem?
Is there a quick and easy way to have pocket summarize into a template of my creation? I.e. I have a template that copilot currently summarizes a transcript into, can I have pocket provide me with the transcript (complete) and the summary in my template?
How do I get pocket to define the speakers? When I use MS Word to transcribe the pocket recording, it does a much better job of defining speakers so that I’m not having to decyfer where the breaks are? I.e. separating my questions from a candidates response.
I’m new to the ecosystem and AI in general, so still learning. I picked up a pocket because due to injury, I temporarily have lost full functionality in my arm - so typing is a pain. I now recognize how important of a technology this can be. Appreciate it and looking forward to the co.munity helping me out with these.

A few answers to your questions:

The current Pocket app does not have user-facing switches for cloud syncing or data retention. Retention is applied automatically based on your account plan, although you can manually delete recordings you no longer want.

Pocket’s transcription and summarization are cloud-based. There is currently no supported way to keep those functions running while preventing the recording, transcript, or summary from being processed or stored through Pocket’s cloud services.

You can still export the original audio manually. Open the recording, choose Export, select Audio recording, then use your phone’s share menu to send it through Mail, save it to Files, or move it to another service. Pocket does not automatically email every audio file. The available audio format and email attachment limit may vary.

Custom summary templates are supported. Open Summary Settings → Themes → Create New Template. You can add your own section names and instructions to match the format you currently use with Copilot. Free users can create a template, but Pocket Pro is required to apply it to summaries.

The Export menu also lets you select the Full transcript and AI summary. The transcript and summary can be exported as separate files in formats such as TXT, PDF, DOCX, or Markdown, depending on your plan.

Pocket Pro includes automatic speaker separation. Pocket can separate different voices, but it may not know each person’s name automatically. In the transcript, tap a speaker label to assign or rename the speaker. Incorrect segments can also be reassigned so your questions and the candidate’s responses are properly separated.
For your company’s Copilot workflow, the practical option today is to manually export the audio or full transcript from Pocket and import it into Copilot. Please confirm that this transfer complies with your company’s privacy and data-handling policies.
