Several Separate Issues Experienced Today

Hi All,

I’ve been using Pocket for ~4 weeks now and have been very impressed. My only ‘complaint’ would be that there are too many options for formatting the notes, and I haven’t found the right fit for me yet.

Today, I experienced several issues and I hope to capture them in the same order they actually occurred.

09:30: I recorded my first meeting. As soon as I was done with this meeting I went right into my next meeting.

10:00: Meeting #2 was recorded.

10:30: I open the App to Sync meetings and the first thing I noticed was that there was an update available. No worries, I’ll download the update first and then I’ll sync the meetings next. No issues with the download, but as soon as I tried to sync the meetings, it was stuck on 0% for quite some time while using the WiFi Sync. After many minutes, I exited the Sync, and tried again, only this time I flipped my phone face down while I went for a coffee and completed a couple more tasks. Twenty minutes later I go to pick up my phone and the first thing I note is that my phone was HOT to the touch and the battery had dropped from 98% almost 50%. I noticed that the screen had not timed out and it was still open to the Pocket App, still with 0% status on my Sync.

11:00: My next meeting. I press the record button, felt the confirmation vibration and see the light turn from blue to yellow/green. About 15 minutes into the meeting, I noticed the light had turned back to blue, so I pressed the button again, felt the vibration and the indicator light changed again to yellow/green. After several more minutes, another check, and the light was blue again. I gave up on this meeting.

11:30: My last meeting ends early. Back to my office to try syncing all of these meetings again, only this time, I decided to do the Bluetooth Sync. Only this time, now I can see that there is only one 4 Second clip to be Synced. After three meetings, it only picked up a single 4 second clip. This is so disappointing.

12:00: Next meeting. This time I decide to record using the Record button in the App. This allows me to Name it and Sync right after I stop recording.

13:30: Same as the 12:00 meeting, I recorded from the App and was able to Rename the file and Sync right away.

For those keeping score, I only successfully Synced 3 of 5 meetings, which is not acceptable in my line of work (likely not your’s either). I’m wondering what caused my iPhone 16 ProMax to overheat and drain like it did (it’s never done this under any other scenario), and I’m disappointed with the Pocket and skeptical of using it moving forward.

Any feedback from anyone else about this would be appreciated.

also you can checkout the “Look up Device Files” to see if there are any missing files for sync just in case something wasn’t picked out do let me know how it goes for you

Hey @mhirrrr, Software version is 0.5.3+224. Firmware: 1.0, WiFi Firmware V6, and when I check for new memories it shows:

10:26- 4s clip

11:56- 1h 14m clip

13:31- 23m 54s clip

and

15:01- 25m 14s clip

Day Two and I lost another meeting file. Why does this keep ocuring?

@SloWell Check in Settings > Look up Device Files and see if they are there and then give feedback here

I actually just took a call from @mhirrrr . He thinks it is likely a hardware issue and is sending me a new device in the morning.

Well that both sucks and is awesome! lol

Sorry to hear that. I had my first device die on me and I’m on my second one - which is behaving alright.

What happens to the meetings that didn’t synch so far? I had a very very important meeting on the previous device that did not sync. (Talk about Murphy’s Law)

I am hopeful the team can recover the meeting files and sync it to my profile. @Akshay @mhirrrr

@ansb29 Thanks for the words of encouragement! And yes, that’s where I’m at now…missing the notes on these critical meetings. Thanks much for linking the powers that be.

Apologies if you mentioned elsewhere, but have you tried connecting to computer via USB-C and checking that the files are there?

Hey. My first device just stopped worked - wouldn’t switch on. I sent it back after getting my replacement before the update that enabled connecting via usbc. :slightly_frowning_face:

I have had similar issues with wifi sync not working and I just gave up and went to bluetooth, which seemed to work fine.

I have also not found the best summary format for me. None give me the detail and analysis I want without having to pose follow up questions, which I do not want take the time to do. I want it done the first time. I have shared my thoughts with the developers, but so far have not seen a fix to the problem yet. I end up having to take the transcript to ChatGPT to get what I want out of it. Still very disappointed with Pocket over all and finding I barely use it because it does not meet my needs. :frowning: Hoping they will come out with a fix sooner rather than later

Hey @mkshmily detailed format with got5 seems like the default for a lot of people. Please do try that and let us know how it goes for you. We did take your feedback into account and made a lot of tweaks to the summary generation. Do let me know if there is anything else we can do

I have been using all week and have experience similar issue of the device confirming start of recording then stops abruptly without informing me. By the time I realized the meeting was half way in. I had to start the recording again. It happened a few times. When the meeting is important, I make sure I watch my phone and avoid it going to sleep or if it is sleeping, make sure the timer is moving from Home Screen. This bug makes the device just extra work.
